Implementation Project

Introduction

Al-Kisa Foundation purchased the Salesforce’s Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) product in November 2019 with the vision of managing customers, relationships, programs, sales, donation, marketing campaigns, reporting, and more. The NPSP version of the Salesforce Client Relationship Management (CRM) is an out-of-the-box solution developed for non-profit organizations. This implementation project will result in consolidation of all transactions, donations, customer data etc. from over 10 third-party applications in order to provide in-depth reporting and insights that have been lacking. In addition to implementation of Salesforce for Al-Kisa Foundation, this project will also include implementation for another sister organization, 2nd Chance Books. 

Al-Kisa foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that includes a dedicated team of scholars, educators, and community members collaborating to establish an educational infrastructure and provide educational products and services. Subsidiaries include Kisa Kids, Kisa Publications, Kisa Family, and many more. Al-Kisa Foundation and its subsidiaries operate as a non-profit/small business and have website presence in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. They have distributors in Pakistan, Tanzania and Lebanon at present with plans to expand to many other countries.  

2nd Chance Books is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded in order to assist incarcerated persons by providing them with educational materials, a support system, and tools for rehabilitation.

Project Objective

Consolidate our people, affiliate organizations, products, sales, donations, marketing campaigns’ etc data into one management system. This is to allow us to know who our customers and supporters are across multiple subsidiaries, gain insights into the popularity, profitability of our products and expand our customer, volunteer and partner base and to understand needs for research and development and achieving our mission and vision.

Project Management Approach

We will be employing the Agile methodology as it takes a collaborative approach to software implementation where requirements and solutions evolve through iterations. Within Agile we will be using a hybrid of the Scrum framework which is a light approach that defines a simple set of roles, meetings, and tools to efficiently, iteratively and incrementally deliver valuable and shippable functionality.

Project Scope

The scope of the Salesforce Implementation project includes the planning, design, configuration, data migration, scripting/development, testing, training and transition of the Salesforce CRM package for two organizations, Al-Kisa Foundation and 2nd Chance Books. 

The scope of this project also includes completion of all documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and training aids to be used in conjunction with the software.  Project completion will occur when the software and documentation package has been successfully executed and all data is captured accurately and with integrity in the new software system.

Project work will be performed at Al-Kisa Foundation as well as our implementation partner, Shake Technologies. The scope of this project does not include any additional module such as Salesforce’s Project/Program Management module etc.
